2N7001T: Are it suitable to as LED driver

Hi e2e,

Currently, my customer use MOSFET as switch to drive LED, and I want to recommend 2N7001T to replace MOSFET switch.

So, I want to ask that this solution is suitable?

If this solution is fine, anyone could give me some selling point or comparsion table.

If anyone has other solution, please tell me too.

The 2N7001T has a push/pull output, and a drive strength of 12 mA, so this will work fine.

Compared to a plain MOSFET LED driver, the 2N7001T has a higher price, needs two decoupling capacitors, and has a lower maximum drive strength.

Hi,

It's more intended to be used for translation instead of a discrete solutions that require multiple FETs and pull-ups. However, yes it does have enough drive strength to drive low current LEDs.
