Hello All

Regarding Helical-PCB antenna for Sub-1G radios (see CC110L ref. design):

What are  the exact dimensions?

How is the performance comparing to Helical-Wire antenna?

    Hi,

The helical pcb antenna dimensions can be found in the gerber data in the CC110L ref design.

The helical wire antenna will give a higher efficiency but the cons with such an antenna is that the helical wire antenna has to remain similiar for all production batches otherwise the antenna match will alter significantly. If the helical wire antenna can be produced or purchased so the repeatability of the antenna can be maintained then this is a good option. Another disadvantage with the helical wire antenna is production placement cost compared to the helical pcb antenna.

    Regards, Richard
