CCC2530ZDK IAR EW Error Rebuild All

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530, Z-STACK

Dear All,

I've just bought a CC2530 ZigBee Development Kit.

I followed carefully the steps of the set up and discovered with surprise that the provided software ( IAR Embedded Workbench) was an evaluation only.

I however set up IAR Embedded Workbench and the Z-Stack but when I want to "Rebuild All" the SensorDemo project, I get the error "[Og007]: Assembler list file generation not allowed in this version of the compiler ".

Two questions : is there anyway to modify and rebuild the sample code provided ? Is it possible to use another software than IAR EW to program the CC2530 modules ?

Thank you for your help

Sincerely
Jean

  • Hi Jean,

Which version of Z-stack are you using, and which version of IAR are you trying to build the software with?

  • Hi Bjorn,

I am using IAR Embedded Workbench IDE for 8051 7.60 and  ZStack-CC2530-2.4.0-1.4.0

Thank you for your fast reactivity.
    Regards.

  • Hi,

It seeems overall that I bought a ZDK that can only use the IAR EW which is a very expensive software. I am not sure it is very clear for me and I would like someone from TI to clarify the position of TI. I bought a 650 $ Development Kit and I can only use the IAR EW afterwards which is more than 2000$ ? I am mistaking myself ? I hope so. Otherwise that would mean I would be unable to start my project.

Maybe  I wasn't careful enough when I bought the kit but for me it was obvious that the software was provided for free.
    Please clarify this problem/issue.

By the way how do you want a student who already spent 650$ for the ZDK to spend more for the soft ?

    Thanks

    Jean

  • Hi,

The current version of SensorDemo (swrc147b.zip) support only up to Z-stack version 2.3.1 and IAR 7.51. I will investigate if we can update this for supporting Z-stack 2.4.0 with IAR 7.60 also.

When it comes to the situation with IAR EW you are right unfortunately. IAR EW is a third party tool that TI does not provide, and that you have to separately from IAR. As you say there is an evaluation period of IAR for 30 days. IAR EW also has a free edition, but this is code size limited and the code size for Z-stack is larger.

    Regards,

    Bjørn
