CC2430 Channel Tx power variation?
We have some tests of CC2430 Tx power and found there are some variation for 10dB delta regarding Tx/Rx for different channels(15 vs 26)
I am not sure whether CC2430 has the issue that Tx power in different channel would vary a lot? Or it could be our broad level design issue? is there nay referenced Documentation?
The power variation of 10dB across the channels means some faults in the board. I can say nothing about CC2430 but for CC2530 this value is declared (by the datasheet) at the 0.5...0.75 dB level. From my practice, in mass production, the boards with CC2530+CC2591 combination can show the variation of about 2 dB. As rule the 15th channel is the best and the 26th channel is the worst.
Anyhow, the 10 dB power drop means 3-fold distance decrease.
According to this:
it has much more than 0.75db various across different channel. perhaps due to CC2591?
As follows from the curves you have pointed (fig.4.1.), the power variation across the channels is within 1 dB subject to the fixed supply votage and temperature.
