CC2530DK IR generation

Section 9.9 describes how to do IR signal generation using T1 in combination with T3.

However, the documentation is not very clear (at least to me) and I'm having trouble making this work. As far as I can tell, the RemoTI sample code does not use these techniques or maybe I'm missing something.

Has anyone got IR working in the way that is described?

Is there an App note or sample code??

Emulator cannot pair

I use the CC2533 RF4CE Basic Development Kit for some projects now.

I want to use it to connect to mp3 player and control it,so I practice to use some example of light of TI.

But when I paired the target board with software target emulator, it didn't work.

There are some pictures that errors happened.

I had tried to reinstall the target emulator, but the same problem happened again.

I wonder whether my target board was broken or software couldn't use.,and how can I to solve the problem.

Stupid way of cc2530 IR

Hello guys

I am new to cc2530

or any kind of chips

so I　am not very good at understanding of cc2530, like the Timer1 Timer3, T1CCTL0 ,T1CC0L ,T1CC0H ,IRCTL...etc

I did reading the swru191c.pdf

But these stuff did not help with me to capture the IR input from every IR remote controler.

So I use oscilloscope to capture the wave of IR input on my board.

You know what it look likes

High .. Low ....High...Low.......

Now here came a idea from my mind

Can I　just capture the all high and low levels from P1_0, as you know, the input port of IR.

like capture all high low levels in 1 or 2 seconds

Then ,filter it ,to cut off the blank areas.

Then shoot it with IR output on P1_1, yes ,there will be a IR light on this port.

I just want to know, it this possible?

Capture or Shoot IR signals without timers.

The IR signals looks like just a package of 0 or 1 ,right?

If this thought is too stupid, I am sorry.

I just do not know how to do it ,capture any kind of IR signals.

RF4CE Remote Pairing Timeout

I am using the Remote TI chip (cc253x) for Remote control application which is a host + RNP based system.I use RTI APIs for controlling the RNP and remote pairing(RTI_AllowPairReq) is working fine with the default timeout value 30 Secs. I would like to know whether it is possible to modify the pairing timeout value? If yes Please let me know the RTI API to do that.

I checked the forum for the similar queries, I am not sure whether this has been raised already.

SmartRF Packet Sniffer does'nt show any Capturing Device

Hi,

I have received an evaluation kit and try to use the CC2531 USB Dongle / USB Nano Dongle.
They are both detected by the RemoteTI-Target Emulator but when I try to use the SmartRF Packet Sniffer (under Windows XP), it does'nt see any Capturing Device.

The driver seems to be correctly installed (I can see under Cebal controlled devices the CC2531 USB dongle driver)
Maybe the sniffer firmware is not flashed in the USB dongle ?

Can I interface cc2533 by 1.8V-LVTTL by Vdd=2.0V?

I did not have description of the value of Vih (min), Vil (max), Voh (min), and Vol (max) found by data sheet of cc2533.

Vdd of CC2533 is described to be 3.6V from 2.0v.
My customer thinks that I would like to carry out cc2533 and interface by 1.8V LVTTL.

where can i get RemoTI_SBDemo source code? i would like to embed serial boot loader function into my test application, my test application can trig device to serial boot mode, then i have to run RemoTI_SBDemo to flash the new firmware, it could be nice if my test application can also flash firmware.

I am very new to CC2531 development and struggled with the error mentioned below while building project

I did let the linker can be chosen automatically by unchecking 'Override default' under Linker option.

Can someone help me out?

I am trying to us chip cc2530 in low power mode.

To test it I use the following code:

When running this code on device and measuring cunsumption current I get 7.8mA;

However datasheet says thet it should be 4uA;

Could someone explain me this phenomen?

hi everyone,

I want to use T1 and T3 to generate ir code. What mode should T1,T1ch1 and T1ch3 working at? Should I need to operate T1CNTL register?

Will the writing operation on T1CNTL affect the value of T1CC0 and T1CC1 registers? or my operation order is wrong? At least in my program it seems like this. and it seems like that my operation on T1CC0 and T1CC1 registers is useless, every time T1CNTL counts to a const and is cleared then.

Timer1 modulo mode: when using DMA, the value of T1CC0 and T1CC1 will be updated while T1CNTL reaching to T1CC0L ? and if i do not use DMA, when should i change the value of T1CC0 and T1CC1?

I noticed a lot of difference in the RTI layer of RemoTI 1.2 and RemoTI 1.3.

I have the following questions with respect to the RCN libraries

Is there an API and constants level change w.r.t. the RCN library in both versions?

Can we use the RTI layer of RemoTI 1.3 over RCN of RemoTI 1.2?

Send data from the receiver in the ACK to the transmitter

Hello All.

In RemoTI ,when key is pressed, the remote transmit to the target . Then the target send back Immediate ACK to the remote transmiTter, blink LEDS after it .

I want to use this method to add more data to the ACK, sent back that information back to the remote transmitter.

1) Where in the software I do this? Where I can fill the acknowledge buffer and change the number of bytes there to send back to remote transmitter more data that I want?

2) In the remote transmitter when he get that data, Where I can find that data ?

Application of the eZ430-RF2500 wireless development board

Hello everyone,

I purchased an eZ430-RF2500 wireless evaluation board, but now I am confused on its applications. I would like to know whether it is possible to send serial data, that is given to it through its General purpose I/O pins to a target board; just as a Zigbee module or usual wireless modules send data.

Based on what I have read in the forum, and on other documents it seems that the eZ430-RF2500 is just being used to send data from its integrated sensors or that it is first processing the data before sending it. In my case I wish to use it for sending Joystick Data as it is, without being processed. Is that possible??

Hello All.

I have a problem with The target node standby current consumption.

7.1 Active Mode : .... average current consumption will be 26.90 mA

7.2 Standby Mode:

The target node standby current consumption depends on the active period and the duty cycle; The most optimal power consumption is when nwkDutyCycle = nwkcMaxDutyCycle : 25.27 mA * nwkcMinActivePeriod / nwkcMaxDutyCycle 25.27 mA * 16.8 ms / 1000 ms = 0.42 mA.

of course this is Average cerrunt flow therefore more value to be greater of nwkcMaxDutyCycle than the averaging of the flow is smaller .

I set

1) RTI_STANDBY_ACTIVE_PERIOD to 60.

2) set RTI_STANDBY_DUTY_CYCLE to 10000.

3) put RTI_StandbyReq(RTI_STANDBY_ON) line

4) see, after set the RTI_StandbyReq to ON that the current down from 25mA to about 7mA. the RX reception is every 10S. so it is OK that it enter/out to/from Standby Mode every 10S.

BUT if I test it in the REMOTI current, it stayed at 7mA continuously at the nwkcMaxDutyCycle period and not down to about 1uA.

Why the The target node standby current consumption not down to ZERO or to 0.42 mA or less in the nwkcMaxDutyCycle period ?

What I need and where to set the CC2533 to mode, use with RTI_StandbyReq(RTI_STANDBY_ON) , so he will wake-up every xS and the current at standby into the xS will be about 1uA ( PM2 ) ?

p.s.

I try put after after osal_pwrmgr_powerconserve(); // Put the processor/system into sleep the lines :

       EA = 1;
       SLEEPCMD = (SLEEPCMD & ~0x02) | 0x02;
       PCON = 1;

after put that lines although the current down to ZERO but the RTI_StandbyReq(RTI_STANDBY_ON) mode not working at all . No RX reception at all till next RESET. The software freeze and not out from PM2 mode.

Even if I do not use the" RTI_StandbyReq" function, only put that lines below, one line or combinations of them, at the end, before " osal_start_system" , or in the middle of the main() ,finish with return or with "goto same line loop" or after or before "osal_pwrmgr_powerconserve" the current consumption still stayed on ~7mA

RTI_EnableSleepReq(); or
osal_pwrmgr_device( PWRMGR_BATTERY ); or
OSAL_SET_CPU_INTO_SLEEP( 10000 ); or
osal_pwrmgr_powerconserve(); or
halSleep(10000);

Like a software that I do not written that consists of layers and connections of the hundreds of functions, and because I do not have Block diagram to it, I need to do a lot of testing... I do not sure at all if it possible to get from it what I want - like in that issue I have described here.

Hi, I have to develop a automated test to programatically verify a Set Top Box's RF4CE functionality

Tests to be performed:

- Pairing

- Simulate key presses from the remote (programmatically) and verifying it from STB end.

Purchased TI's RF4CE development kit CC2533DK-RF4CE-BA, is there a way to configure the target module/CC2533EM to function as a "Remote Controller" module ?

If this can be done, then I can use this module as part of my test setup to automate the Set Top Box's (do have all the drivers and API necessary to interact with the STB) RF4CE functional test verification.

I have downloaded the file swrr094.zip, which contains RemoTI RF4CE CC2533 Reference Designs. The BOM does not include an entry for the PCB switch buttons of the remote control (KP1 to KP40). Does anyone have a part# for the switches?

Any help would be appreciated.

In CC2533 , can I change the RF sensitivity of the receiver ?

Can I do this with CC2533 ? Control over the receiver sensitivity ?
