CC2531 Nano not showing up as external drive

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: REMOTI, CC2531

Hello,

This is kind of an extension of this question: http://e2e.ti.com/support/low_power_rf/f/159/t/248783.aspx

My Nano USB is not showing up as an external USB drive so I do not know how I am supposed to program it with the *.hex file so that I can use it as a packet sniffer. There is no COM port appearing when I plug it in but it is able to be used as a pairing device in the Target Emulator program. Please let me know if you have any advice, thank you!

  • Hi Kate,

There is an option in Target Emulator to enter Serial Boot mode. Please follow the instructions carefully as once you enter Serial Bootloader mode the application image is invalidated, and you won't be able to use it for other operations than uploading a new image, until a new image is successfully uploaded.

Please see section 3.16 of "Target Emulator User's Guide". You'll find the user guide in the /Documents folder of the installer for RemoTI.

  • Hi Kate,

If you install packet sniffer, you will have packet sniffer FW for CC2531 under C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware
