Prior to connection, is WPA supplicant required for No Security and WEP128? What functionality are we missing by not having the WPA supplicant enabled when connected via No Security or WEP128?
What applications does the WPA supplicant support? Is it just the authentication algorithm, or is there additional network configuration management, diagnostics info, etc?
Hi Ryan,
Please find my comments inline.
Ans: WPA supplicant is not required for NO Security mode and WEP 128 connectivity. You can use wireless tool to connect with “NO Security” mode and WEP 128 connectivity.
Ans: WPA supplicant is like a daemon service and also an authentication algorithm. The wpa_supplicant supports WPA, WPA2, WPS features.
