Hi,
I am designing several CC85xx networks, of which one includes one master (M) and 2 Slaves (S1 and S2). I would like to have S1 send an on/off command to M and for M to automatically re-send the same command to S2 for action.
I know that it is relatively easy to send remote control signals from the Slave (S) to the Master (M), but is it possible to send a limited number (1 , 2, or 3) of simple on/off signals (like switching on or off an LED) from the M to S without having to adopt host control?
Thanks,
Geoff Pickford
Hi Geoff,
The first one we can do. This would be the network standby feature (see section 3.7.1.1 in the User Guide). For the slaves that should have the ability to turn on/off standby, you will need to enable this in the User Interface and IO Mapping panel of the PurePath Wireless Configurator. Please note that the RF link will be fully active (although with reduced duty-cycle within the timeslot if no audio is being transmitted) in standby mode and there will be some current drawn by the slaves and the master. How much depends on the configuration and settings. This standby mode is to be able to shut down external audio devices like power amplifiers to fulfill energy star requirements etc.
Sending remote control commands from Master to Slaves is not possible I'm afraid and you will need to have a host controller to get this functionality.
Hope this helps.

Hi Kjetil,
Thanks for this answer and the other posts I closed off on noise issues.
