CC85xxDK Development Kit,AIC3101,AIC3254

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC8531

Now, we have bought the CC85xxDK PurePathe Wireless Development Kit. And the development kit use the codec AIC3101.

Then we decide to use another codec AIC3254 for our project.  So we use AIC3101 for the master and use AIC3254 for the slave. so the condition is:

master: CC8531+AIC3101

salve: CC8531+AIC3254

but  I have tried several times, and cannot hear the voice from master.

Q1: if the master and slave must use the same codec?

Q2: in the CC85xx Development Kit Hardware User's Guide, it says: Also note that P15.16 (onboard Codec reset) should be hardwired to 0 if a codec with the same I2C address is used. I want to know how to hardwaire to 0. I mount P15.15 and P15.16, right?

Thanks for your attention.

  • Hi,

A1: No, the master and the slave must not have the same codec. You should be to use e.g. AIC3101 on the master side and AIC3254 on the slave side.

A2: Hardwire P15.16 to 0 means that this pin should be constantly driven low e.g. connected to GND. This is done to "disable" the onboard AIC3101 if it is not intended to be used.

    Best regards,

    Johan
