what's the role about CC85X1 USB

Hi:

I'm studying about the PurePath Wireless Audio these days and I have a question that puzzle me:

what's the role about CC85X1 USB?

According to the demo and spec, when CC85X1 set as a USB audio device(protocol master), audio stream can be passed, here it looks like a USB slave which connected to some USB master device(PC, for example);

I just wonder if CC85X1 USB can play a master role, for example, drive some HID,keyboard,mouse,etc..

Or, in order to attach some HID, need to use EHIF with some host controller(mcu,for example)?

Best Regards,

Alex Zhang

  • Hi Alex,

    A CC85x1 USB device must always the master in the PPW network, but the PC is the always the USB host.

    It is possible for a host-controlled (external mcu required) slave to send HID commands to the USB device master which will automatically be send to USB host when received. You can e.g. send keyboard and mouse HID commands to the PC using a host-controlled slave and a USB master.

    Best regards,

  • Hi, Johan:

    Thanks for your answer, it's very clear;

    And could you provide some reference for keyboard/mouse connection soluction?

    (I researched, and found that almost all the solution for keyboard/mouse is PS/2 or USB I/F,so is there some

    solution avaliable with SPI I/F and without some converter?)

    Thanks again for your help.
