    Hi Jeff,

I am not sure which version of Cadstar you are working with. I have Cadstar Express 11.0 and don't see any problem while opening the .pcb file in the reference design

Download Cadstar Express and re-install it. (You will have to register, it is free)

I did download the swrr071 file and was able to open the CC2540_MiniDK.pcb by:

    FIle->Open->(Selecting file name)

I did get a  warning that the file was a read only file. Other than that it looked okay

    Hello Jeff,

Have managed to get the files onto Altium? If you did, can you please send those files to me?

    Regards,

    Ariel

    Hi Ariel,

You can open import several files to Altium (I think .pcb, .cpl and .cpa extensions is what you need to export),

This will generate a .PcbDoc file with routing but with some information missing:

    • Nets original names
    • Values of passive components, only designators
    • Names of layers (not sure though)
This is useful if you want measure length and width of tracks, also exact placement of parts, diameters of vias
and exact distance between those vias. For antenna design, it also be great to refer to specific antenna design (like
the inverted F antenna...), there are several considerations to take in account. :)
    Good luck

    Br,

    Igor

    Hello Igor,

When I open the .pcb file I get a blank page. I am not sure what I am doing wrong :(

    Thanks,

    Ariel
