Hi,

Couple of questions:

1) I am looking to develop custom applications using CC2540. For ex., I would like to develop custom profile and services with CC2540. Is this possible? If so, what components and software will I need? Can I buy all of this from TI?

2) I see that companies like "Connectblue" offer their own Bluetooth Low Energy Platform Module OLP425. How does this differ from CC2540? What additional benefits do I get by buying this Connect blue product.

Hi,

I would suggest that you use our CC2541 insteead of CC2540.

2 major advantages.

1) CC2541 supports propreitory mode, where you can write your own custom profile/protocol.

It also handles BLE stack, on the same chip.

By using this method, you can run 2 stacks, and still be interoperable with other BLE profiles/spec.

If you write your own custom profile, you will not be interoperable, and will have lot of issues .
