Carrier Phase Synchronization of multiple readers

I'm trying to synchronize two readers using Carrier Phase Synchronization scheme as explained in http://www.ti.com/rfid/docs/manuals/refmanuals/S251BrefGuide.pdf. As explained in the document, the scheme is used when multiple antennas are operating close to each other, and that is exactly the case in my design where I have four antennas connected to each reader through multiplexer. Center to center distances between the antennas are less then 18 inches. One reader is configured as a master and another as a slave using the wiring and DIP switch positions. In RFM tab of Config Mode using S2_Util reader configuration software, No Sync and Tx/Rx Ints Disabled are selected for both the readers. I am testing the network by simply reading from the first antenna of each reader. The master reader continuously reads a tag placed inside its read range, while the slave unit reads then loses and again reads a tag. The cycle of reading, losing and reading continues with the slave unit.

Could you please help me with the issue?

Thank you in advance.
