target reset while flash operation in progress

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

I had a working ccs3.3 computer that died so I am trying set up a different one (I stayed with xp) and am getting "target reset while flash operation in progress" when I try to program.......what does this mean?  what is the issue?  Thanks

Is this error with CCSv3.3 or any other version? Also, which controller are you using? By any chance are you using MATLAB for code generation?

  • thanks for the reply....I am using the 28335........I have not tried a different version although I suppose I could but I am using an older ccs version just because the heritage code I am using was built with it......the code is not from matlab.....

  • Mark, I would like you to test one thing: Download CCS uniflash (this is just a flashing tool) and try flashing the device using the .out file in your project. Let me know what you observe.

  • i am trying to download as you suggestted but there seems to be a TI server issue.....i will keep trying and let you know.....thanks

  • well.....I gave uniflash a try and it seemed to work pretty well.......I guess that I am going to abandon the CCS tool and use this one although I am not sure what happened because I had used this same pc to program before.....to answer your response: I observed the application recognizing the emulator (xds510usb-LC) , it connected to the target, erased, programmed, verified and produced a checksum.......

Which in turn means that... CCS v3.3 has become unstable. You can try uninstalling the compiler, delete all the relevant folders in the root directory and try installing the same again.
Hope this helps you! (Feels good that your emulator and board are fine)

  • thanks again for the help......i tried exactly what you said....i uninstalled and re-installed the CCS3.3 version but i keep coming up against road blocks....the last one is what i started this thread with saying that the processor reset when the programming started........

Mark, why stick to CCS v3.3 when you've CCSv6 available. Why don't you give that  try?
