Codeskin C2prog + LF2407A

All,

I have this question concerning C2Prog, the flash programming utility from Codeskin. When this tool is used on a LF2407A device, does it read the programmed flash memory and compare the flash image with the one on the PC hard drive? I am concerned about data being corrupted while it is transmitted from the PC’s serial port to SCI port of LF2407A or the RAM buffer (on the 2407A) contents being corrupted.

  • Update: I sent my question to Codeskin, who were kind enough to respond to my query promptly. Transcript reproduced below for the benefit of everyone:

    Hareesh,

All communications are protected by means of a CRC, and the success of a reflashing operation is verified.

Further, for maximal safety, a 32-bit CRC can be added to the firmware image to also allow verifying the code integrity during runtime.

Please review the C2Prog manual for more information on this topic.

    Regards,

    Beat
