Hi all,
I want suggestion regarding implementation of ehertcat in the concerto microcontroller.
Is it advisable to use ethercat in concerto microcontroller. If so how can we implement please guide with some examples.
Thanks
Akhil

Hi Akhil,
As you might've already viewed few threads, Ethercat is not supported by C2000 devices. Also, EtherCAT is done by an external ASIC chip (from Hilscher), in FPGA, or from the ICSS peripheral in the Sitara devices. C2000 devices can communicate to these through SPI or EMIF.
Also, I would like you to go through this link: http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/297062.aspx

Akhil,
Ethercat cannot be implemented on Concerto. Ethercat is a daisy-chain topology, not a bus topology. To do Ethercat, you essentially need two ethernet MAC ports - one for incoming and the second for outgoing.
TI's recommended solution for Ethercat is the AM3359 or AM3357 processor:

We have software for Ethercat slave, implemented on the PRU co-processor on the device. There is a development platform here:

Ethercat master is possible I believe, but TI does not possess the software for that at this time.
More information in the TI Ethercat solution is in this white paper:
