C2000 TMDSPLCKITV4-CEN

Good Afternoon everyone,

Regarding: C2000 TMDSPLCKITV4-CEN

I have purchased this kit, but there was no CD inside the box.

Can somebody please point me to the Zero Config GUI tool ?

Does anyone at TI USA support the Power Line Communications equipment ?

The ladies at TI Asia support are very polite, it seems that the lights are on, but no-one is home.

They do answer emails, but after 3 weeks, I still waiting for the CD or the correct link.

Is it possible to give me a contact in the US for support ?

    Here's the download location: http://www.ti.com/tool/ti-plc-plclite

  • Hi Nick,

We also have a G3 or PRIME software package for the kit, including the ZeroConfigurationGUI. All the software can be downloaded here:

  • Hi Simon,

Thank-you for the link, now I am swamped with solutions...

Can I ask you advice on which way to focus ?

Currently we have a successful project watering plants in a nursery.

I have a simple FSK type solution running over 500Meters but our predictions show we need to target 2-10km range.

We currently have a 24-28Vac drive coming from our 100VA Transformer from our 240Vac mains power.

We are not concerned about the voltage drop at the end of the run, however, we do need to have good comms to the end.

We have to switch some 3-5  8W  solenoids on for 20 minutes each in a network of 100 solenoids. The solenoid circuit has a Zero crossing opto drive to Triac which is quite noisy over the wire.

We have developed a 12V Solenoid solution to reduce the switching noise and improve the range of the 24Vac supply. However, the managers of the project insist 24Vac solenoid drive must work as it did before to at least 1km.

Which communication style would you recommend for comms at 5km over a sagging 24Vac line with switching triacs running?

Our data rate requirement is low, about 1k bit per second would just be acceptable. But we would like to see 20KHz+ if it is possible at that range.

    Thanks for the support.

  • Hi Nick,

I would recommend looking at the G3 software it gives you the best performance. I don’t think you will be able to cover the whole distance with just one modem. You will need repeaters (hops) in between.

The data rate will also be very limited at that range. If you need more performance and a bit extended range you should buy the SOM for the FCC frequency band.
