Cycle by cycle Trip zone configuration in TMS320F28337D

Hi all,

I have some basic doubts on CBC ( cycle by cycle) control on Trip zone module.

If the fault pin comes low from the gate driver ( or some external circuitry and the fault pin is connected to Trip zone XBAR pin), the pwm pulses will behave accordingly to their choice given in TZCTL register.  I am configuring cycle by cycle trip limit.

I have the following queries : -

1.  will the PWM will behave normally ( i.e. according to the logic) at next rising edge of pulse.?

2. For how many cycles these phenomena can be configured. Is there any option for doing so?

  • Hi Raja,

Let me explain CBC in simple words:

When a trip occurs (lets assume a falling edge ie low) -> your PWM is set to particular state lets assume low.

The moment a rising edge is observed on this pin -> pwm resumes its operation.

Here's what the doc has to say:

Do go through the TRM for more info.
