TMS320F28335 Flash API source code for certification

Hi,

I'm developing an application under DO178B directive for avionic software.

I will need to use the flash API library but for certification purposes I will need to certificate the library as well.

I found in the FAQs an answer to the issue of requiring source code, but there a sentence that I'm not sure how to interpret:

"When TI supplies the source code it is with the understanding that the customer needs it for auditing purposes ONLY (for example: FAA Certification, etc.) and that they will use the API as supplied by TI and not rebuild it."

For what reason can't the source be rebuilt? I mean, in order to certificate the library I shall produce evidence that the compiled code generates the same binary I'm using in my application, for example with a CRC comparison. Is this use of the code acceptable?

Otherwise, does TI provide evidence (even with charge) that the library is qualified for use under DO178B?

Thanks,

Filippo
