TMS320F28377D- Question about the SPI module architecture.

Hi all.

1. iv'e checked the RTM, SPI chapter, and didnt find a way on how to get access to the RX FIFO (get the data from the FIFO instead of getting the data from the buffer).

is it possible?

2. i tried to run my code (which sends and receivec data from SPI channel among other things..) and didnt connect the SPI lines to a slave, and i noticed that the received data is the data that i sent. i double checked and the loopback was disabled, is it possible that the dummy data in MISO port is the data that the master is sending?

Shimon,

1. There is no way to access the RX (or TX) FIFOs. You must read from the buffer to get the data. If you are interested in knowing the number of words in the buffer, there is the RXFFST field of the SPIFFRX register.

2. Are you 100% sure that loopback was not enabled? I actually just tested this on the bench and I do not get the TX value. are you sure there is nothing else connected?

Hi mark,

I double checked it. I agree that is weird.

Any way I changed the code and connected the spi channel to other unit. Now it works perfectly.
