using dvr8301-69m-kit for prototype project

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301-69M-KIT, DRV8301, CONTROLSUITE

1.  We developing a remote controller for an unmanned ground vehicle using DRV8301-69M-KIT. We want to ascertain compatibility between the embedded driver in the Kit and the power required by vehicle's brushless DC motor. The motor technical parameters are:

      Rated Power(W)             1200
      Rated Voltage(VDC)       48/60
      Rated Speed(RPM)        3750
      No load Speed(RPM)     3900
      Rated Torque(N.M)        30.5
      Rated Current(A)           ≤36/30/27
      No load Current(A)         ≤5/4/3
      Efficiency                     ≥83%
      Gear Ratio                    1:10

2.  If heating is a problem, are dissipators recommended?

3.  Can TI identify the pin in assignment of the 20pin connector on the DRV8301-69M-Kit?

Thank you for you kind assistance in this matter.

  • 1. the kit you have is good to 60Vdc and 40A peaks, so you are probably ok. Many battery based 48V systems typically design a higher voltage range though to give some buffer, so this DRV8301 isn't typically used in true 48V systems.

    2. shouldn't be a major problem in this application if there is any sort of airflow on the board

    3. schematics are included in the controlSUITE installation
