C2000 Solar Micro Inverter, F28035 GUI Help

I'm trying to bring up a TMDSSOLARUINVKIT and I'm running into an error on the GUI that I've been unable to resolve.

Here is a snapshot of the GUI:

I've been following the quick start guide, step by step, and when I click on "Inv Start" after connecting the items noted on previous steps of the guide, the text below "Inverter State" transitions from "Idle" to "MonitorDCBus".  It seems to camp out at this point indefinitely.

I've been unsuccessful in identifying what this state means, and what the development board is waiting for.

I'm using a solar panel for the PV DC input.

Please let me know what additional information regarding my configuration would be useful to know.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks,

Peter

  • Peter,

The Monitor DC Bus state is when the micro inveretr enables the DC-DC and waits for the charge on DC Bus to build up so that it can feed power into the grid. Looks like the DC-DC STage is not working. You can refer to the UG INCR BUILD 3 , and the state machine will explain what each of those messages means.

While no HV is present, Can you verify that you have DC voltage bias supply connected on both the primary and the secondary side?

Also can you try with the MPPT Enable box unchecked?

  • Manish,

Thank you for the support, and rapid response.

I was able to measure the DC voltage bias supply +12V_PRI, +5V_PRI and +3V3_SEC and verify that they are present.  Un-checking the MPPT Enable did not change anything.

Previously, this the board was working fine, but then I shorted out a few parts with my scope while probing various sections.  I'm guessing I still have a bad part somewhere.

I will do the incremental build as you recommended, in efforts to isolate the problem.

    Thank you for your support.

    Peter

  • Ok Peter, I am going to close this thread for now. Start a new one for other issues.
