Running PLC with own algorithm in GUI.

Hi everyone

I want to ask a question.

If I have my own algorithm and flash into the PLC kit.

Can I use Zero Configuration GUI to watch some data?

Or I need to do it by other way?

Regards,

Wayne

  • Wayne,
Zero Configuration GUI (ZCG) expects the software/algorithm running on the modem to communicate with it as per the host message protocol specification. This host message protocol specification is provided as part of the SDK and a host interface application example is available as well. Our current PLC solutions utilize this to inter-operate with ZCG.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Ranjith,

What I want to do is get two input information(such as channel gain or noise, etc.) use them to do my algorithm and it might get better SNR or BER from receiver which can show plot on the screen.

These are what I trying to do.

But now, I don't have any clue how to implement this.

Are there any  information that I can refer?

    Thanks,

    Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,
On the intermediate GUI we do expose the SNR, RSSI , AGC gain . This could also be found in G3 PHY RX as part of host message protocol specification. However I am sorry to say that since we dont expose the PHY source it would be difficult for you to plug in your own algorithm for equalization and gain control.

  • Hi Ananth

I want to ask a question.
What is this PLC kit suppose to do for user?

Tuning the parameter in the intermediate GUI and test the power line environmental

    Transmitting data from power line.
    Any else?
Cause I got this kit for a year, but I don't know what else this kit can do.
I did not see much about this kit's experiment or doing research with this kit.
If there has any other information about this kit that I can refer that would be helpful.

    Regards,
    Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,

Usually our customer use PLC KIT to test PLC software in their environment. Which includes to get a rough estimate of how their channel is. Mostly it is just used as a startup kit for customers to get started with TI power line communication.

  • Hi Ananth

    Got it.

    That's what I thought.

I have another question want to ask.

Can this kit do MIMO(muti-input/muti-output) test  for experiment?

    Regards,

    Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,No you cannot do MIMO test with this kit.Regards,Ananth
