F28335 ADC Port

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

    1)  I want to connect an analog signal to the ADC port. I connected the positive wire to ADC IN7, however i am confused where to connect the ground. Whats the difference between ADCL0 and normal GND PIN on the ADC port.

2) How can I visualize what ADC records after downloading the simulink program through code composer in simulink. I tried to see the ADC registers in code composer but, it didnt help.

3) The analog signal always remains between 1.5 and 2.5 volts is there any need for protection circuit. It is comming from the output of LVDT signal conditioner.

Thanks

  • Hi Aero,

What hardware are you using? F28335 experimenter's kit ?

ADCLO should be connected to analog ground as its the Low Reference signal. So if you check the datasheet, you can connect ADCLO to rest of analog ground pins.

Sorry, simulink based support is not available on this forum . Please contact Matlab forum for C2000 devices.

If you check the F28335 control Card schematics in controlSuite you can find protection circuitry.

  • Yes  I am using F28335.

  • Ok. I hope you checked the replies too.
  • thanks and do you mean that i should connect ADCL0 to all of the gNDs on port 9 or only one.
  • You've 2 GNDs namely Analog and Digital. You've to connect it to Analog GND or AGND.
  • Pardon me its bit confusing, if you look at the ADC of the F28335 Port-9 in the manual, you only see two kind of labels for ground GND and ADCL0. In my case I have two wires, positive wire to the ADC IN7 and about black wire i got confused wether to connect it to the pins labeled GND in the manual or to the one named ADCL0
  • If you check the Table 2-3 Signal Description you'll find this info:

Here, Analog Grounds are clearly mentioned. So in your case if GND indicates this Ground then connect it here or if ADCLO is already grounded: you can connect it there too.
