Windows 7 cannot find drivers for my device. F28069M Launchpad

Hello,

I am using the F28069M launchpad. For some reason my computer stopped recognizing the COM port. I am running Windows 7 Professional.

I just finished a design using the F28027 launchpad and I had no problem connecting to the serial port. Got the surprise graphic and everything.

Now when I move to the F28069 nothing works.  Windows 7 displayed the COM port yesterday, but Putty wouldn't connect. No data came through. Today, the COM port is no longer displayed -moving backwards here. I can see the TI XDS100 Channel A and B installed no problem.

Searched the web and TI forum -no luck.

The FTDI website (See the link to the document below.) says that an error can occur if the VID and PID numbers programmed into the device do not match those listed in the .INF files for the driver. They have a USBView utility to check. If it is mismatched, I have to get the OEM to supply the correct VID and PID numbers.

Below is a link to the FTDI Drivers Installation Guide:

Anyone else have this problem? Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go poking around in the driver unless i have to.

Thanks,

Chuck
