LAUNCHXL-F28069M SCI Example_2806xSci_Echoback not working

I'm trying to get the example program located here to work:

C:\ti\controlSUITE\device_support\f2806x\v150\F2806x_examples_ccsv5\sci_echoback

When i start it i receive garbage on the terminal, so it looks like the baudrate is wrong. So far i can't find the cause of this.

I tried the same with a LAUNCHXL-F28027F and the example located here:

C:\ti\controlSUITE\device_support\f2802x\v230\f2802x_examples_drivers\sci_echoback

That one works just fine.

Is this a known problem and what can be the cause of this. I'm using latest CCS version for both.

Hi Romke,

The default code is configured for 9600 baud rate. Also, is your virtual COM Port installed correctly?

Have you modified the example at all? What is the configuration of your COM port on your PC?

The example is not modified. The COM port is correctly installed and set to the correct settings as described in Example_2806xSci_Echoback.c

In the mean time i managed to use code from another project to get the uart working. I still want to check why it's not working with this example so i need to do some comparing.

Did you compare the sample and the working code? Were you able to notice the difference? Also, did you check with the SCI GPIO initialization and the clock setup?

I managed to get it working:

- I went to project properties -> General

- I selected:

Manage the project's target-configuration automatically

Connection: Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Debug Probe

Is this the right way to do it or is something else wrong?
