DRV8301-HC-EVM w CC2803x and GliderDrive SK3

Dear TI professionals,

I am working with DRV8301-HC-EVM kit and brushless motor Turnigy GliderDrive SK3 Competition Series - 3858 - 4.6 840kv.

When adjusting DfuncStartup and CmtnPeriodTarget,  I cannot get the motor to stop vibrating while spinning.

As stated in the guide: "The parameters DfuncStartup and CmtnPeriodTarget should be such that, at the end of motor speed up phase, the generated Bemf is lower than the average voltage applied to motor winding. This will prevent the motor from stalling or vibrating."

Some motor parameters:

RPM/V: 840kv
Motor Poles: 14
Internal resistance: 0.031 Ohm
Max Loading: 45A
Max Power: 830W

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

This is a old code, which we don't support fully as the people that developed it are not with TI anymore. We continue to put it in control suite for legacy.Try adjusting the input voltage and see if there is any improvement.
