Hello Folks,

We are facing one problem with SMJ320F2812. The device wired in one card cannot be flashed. It is showing following error when we try to Flash it.

"C28xx: Flash Programmer: Error erasing flash memory. Device is locked or not connected. Operation cancelled
C28xx: Flash Programmer: Error erasing Flash memory.
C28xx: Flash Programmer: Device is locked or not connected. Operation cancelled.
C28xx: Trouble Writing Memory Block at 0x3f7ff6 on Page 0 of Length 0x2
C28xx: GEL: File: C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx.out: Load failed."

We have wired and tested many SMJ320F2812 in the past using the same circuit and first time facing the problem. While we monitor the Reset pin, it is showing a pulse of 32us width low at a periodicity of 125 Hz. Our clock freq is 80 MHz. The device is powered from TPS70358 and TPS7A4501.

Please help us with the solution.

Hi,

As error indicating that device may be locked, please check if device is indeed lock. You can view the Flash memory content in CCS memory browser and see if it's visible. If not then device is secure.

Also on following error -

C28xx: Trouble Writing Memory Block at 0x3f7ff6 on Page 0 of Length 0x2

This is ROM location. Not sure why .out file has this address location which is getting loaded. This is READ ONLY memory.

Thanks for the response!

Regarding Flash Error. I have attached the memory data of that device. Also as per your reply, the address "0x3f7ff6" points to Flash only and not OTP. We didnt do anything to lock. So what may be the problem

Hi,

The value showing at those locations are 0x0 which means device is indeed locked. If you have not programmed the passwords then it may have corrupted due to interruption during Flash operation and in such case device need to be replaced.

HI Vivek,
We have a couple of more questions from the same customer. Can you please help with the answer?
1. We are not using some of the F2812 pins for example XA, XD, TCLKIN and C3TRIP. What exactly will happen to the DSC if these pins are shorted to ground?
2. I need to simulate my application code in code composer studio without connecting to the target/emulator. Is it possible?

For the answer 2,

I think he means to simulate the code he has written on CCS without connecting the F2812 target. In the sense, a hardware emulator kind of thing which will depict the updated state machine and registers..

I realize you have opened a new post at http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/537953 , so let us continue the discussion there. Short answer to your two questions:

1. Not a good idea to short the XINTF pins to GND. Please see new post for reasoning.

2. Simulator support is not available anymore.
