Does the DRV8312-c2 kit sensorless control need starting process?

Hi,

I want to use this kit to do sensorless trapezoidal control of BLDC using B-EMF zero crossing detection method. I have read the application report. It seemed that it did not mention the starting process. As I read from other papers, this method needs a starting process. How can I do this?

You force a rotation by applying commutation steps in a timed manner, such that as the time between successive commutations steps is gradually reduced, the motor speeds up and when there is enough speed, there will be bemf.

You may have to use some timer to time out the commutation.
