ezDSP Digital spectrum board heating issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28335

I am using ezDSP TMS320F28335 for my project. I am trying to PIL simulation for 4000 seconds with matlab. When I tried this my processor got locked at 72 sec and I also observed board PS767D301 IC and processor both heated up. May I know the reason for this issue. Is ezDSP is not designed for longer continuous usage.

Some information about my application

My application uses ROM - 111250 Bytes and  RAM - 14804 Bytes.

My matlab model has 1ms, 2ms, 10ms and 100ms sub-systems.

I am not interfacing any external hardware, but using SCI to pass the inputs.

  • Hi,

The ezDSP is designed for debug purpose at SATP.  We are not aware of any issues with the board that cause the board to heat up to a very high temperature.

This doesn't seem like a software issue to me.  Instead, this seems like a hardware/power/jumper issue.

Perhaps ESD damage occurred to the chip?  I might also recommend that you make sure that the C2000 chip's pins are held within the absolute maximum ratings.

    Thank you,
    Brett
