TMS320F28379D: Memory Test Question

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hi,

My customer is having an issue with the memory test, please see details below:

As part of a safety check, I am testing to make sure that ECC/Parity logic on the dedicated memories are working.  For test purposes, I decided to check M1 memory.

Here are the steps:

    1. I initialized the memory to zero.
    1. I set “TEST_M1” bits in DxTEST register to 01.
    1. I wrote 5 words (1,2,3,4,5) to the corresponding M1 memory area starting at 0x404.

I observed that locations 404, 405, 407 contained 0 since the data change contained only 1 bit of change?  Locations 406 & 408 contained 0x3 & 0x5 respectively.

I expected to see an error and an NMI generated when more than 2 bits of changes were made but did not see any.

Thanks,

Chuchen
