TMS320F28374S: TMS320F28374s Reset unexpected while the power module running in 70'C ambient temperature

Part Number: TMS320F28374S

Hi Team,

My customer reported an TMS320F28374SPTPT unexpected reset while the power module running at 70'C ambient temperature. Has double checked the 3.3V & 1.2V power supply which kept under normal range, and also done some operation in all unused ISR include USER_ISR but without any trigger in these ISRs.   and the customer used external 12Mhz Osc.

Could you kindly give comments on below items:

  1) Which registers can be saved and to track the reset source if the RESET is triggered by software or Watchdog?

  2) Which items should be monitored for hardware except the VDD/XRS/External Clock input/VDD3VFL?

  3) Any comments for the temperature affect for RESET?

  4) As the external OSC is 12Mhz and the internal OSC is 10Mhz,  the reset signal(XRS) last for 62us?

Expect for your reply, thanks.

Best Regards

Benjamin

  • Hi Benjamin,

      1) Which registers can be saved and to track the reset source if the RESET is triggered by software or Watchdog?

User can check the RESC status register (2.15.11.25 RESC Register (Offset = 80h) [reset = X] in TRMto know what is the cause of reset.

Other status register which can be useful to check is NMISHDFLG  (2.15.5.7 NMISHDFLG Register (Offset = 6h) [reset = 0h] in TRM)

    Regards,
