LAUNCHXL-F28069M: + BOOSTXL-DRV8301 + LVSERVOMTR PMSM FOC eQEP

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LVSERVOMTR, , BOOSTXL-DRV8301, MOTORWARE

Hi,

I need to calculate the electrical angle (Theta) to use in the Park and inverse Park transformations for PMSM Vector/Field Orientated Control (FOC) of a PMSM. I also need to calculate the speed for PID control.

I need to do this from the encoder built into the TI LVSERVOMTR (Teknic M-2310P-LN-04K ).

I have been trying to do this using the eQEP, but have not been able to get it working. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

IDE: TI Code Composer Studio 7.4.0, Control Suite 3.4.9

MCU: LaunchXl-F28069M

Inverter: BoostXL-DRV8301

Motor: Teknic M-2310P-LN-04K (LVSERVOMTR)

Regards,

Adam

  • Could you please download and install motorWare since you are using LaunchXl-F28069M and BoostXL-DRV8301, and refer to the instaSPIN-Motion lab projects using QEP like lab12a, lab12. You might follow the instaSPIN lab guide to spin your motor step by step in just minutes.

You could find the "instaspin_labs.pdf" guide in below folder if you install the motorWare by default.

  • Hi Yanming,

Thank you for your reply. I am actually trying to do this in Embedded Coder and I have tried to complete the MotorWare Projects before with little success.

Can you please tell me if the Motorware Projects are compatible with the LaunchXL version of the F28069M or just the control card?

    Regards,

    Adam
  • Supports both, there are dedicated example projects using the same motor control algorithm and different h/w configuration for both kits in motorWare.
