TMS320F28377S: TMS320F28377S

Part Number: TMS320F28377S

Hi, I have a noise problem with the interface between the launchxl tms320f28377s and an FPGA, the development tool altera DE2. I connect the output of an EPWM module to initiate a state machine when the outputs are set to zero (Figure 1). In the attached figures, the outputs of the EPWM are the signals green and blue and the output of the FPGA is pink. Sometimes the state machine doesn't run I think that is due noise (Figure 2). I connect directly from the output of the DSP to the FPGA by wires, without any other component. How can I solve this problem? thanks.

  • Hi,

Are these both devices on the same ground?
Do you observe noise when you monitor the launch pad outputs without connecting to FPGA?
Also, noise doesn't seem to correlate with PWM transitions - so, it would help to look at other signals switching in the system.
  • Hi,

Yes, these two devices are on the same ground, the FPGA has its own power supply and the DSP too, with the ground connected.

I don't have tested the circuit without connecting both devices I'll do it.

This system is to fire some igbt's that are isolated by a digital isolator and then an optic gate driver, I think that with this isolation the noise will be minimum, Do you have any recommendation for the wires?

    Thanks.
