RTOS/TMS320F28069F: Medical RTOS for Piccolo.

We have used the C2000 platform for years and would like to continue using that for our medical products. With the increasing level of software compliance to Medical safety standards, we are looking for a compatible RTOS for the Piccolo MCU. I have not been able to find a RTOS for the Piccolo that also meets the safety standards of IEC62304. Please let me know if there are any products out there I should be reviewing. Thanks so much.

Thanks for your question and lengthy use of C2000 MCUs in your products.

The C2000 MCU team has not established any third party connections to port and support an IEC 62304 compliant RTOS on our product portfolio.

We can definitely assess the market need and investigate the possibility of doing so. However, this would be a longer term project.

For the moment, however, I would suggest that you independently contact QNX: - http://blackberry.qnx.com/en/products/certified_os/medical.

QNX supports this on ARM and x86 architectures, and may be willing to undertake a project for you to develop (port) their RTOS for a C2000 MCU like TMS320F28069F

We apologize for not being able to provide additional support at this time for an IEC 62394 compliant RTOS for C2000 MCUs

Adding on to Bharat's response, safeRTOS may be another option. High Integrity Systems supports safeRTOS on some of the newer C2000 devices (F2837xD) and may be willing to support 28069.
