  • Hi Zhang,

Trying to understand the issue here.

    1. Is your customer is trying to boot from USB?

    2. Do they have C2000Ware installed on the PCs?

    3. Can you try uninstalling and re-installing in one of the PC in which you are getting the error?

    Thanks and Regards

  • Hi Singh,

    Thanks,here are the answer:

    1. Is your customer is trying to boot from USB?  --> NO, boot from Flash.

    2. Do they have C2000Ware installed on the PCs?  --> NO, they just copy the driver files from C2000ware

    3. Can you try uninstalling and re-installing in one of the PC in which you are getting the error? --> yes, they try, but still have issue.

  • Zhang,

    Regards

    Harshmeet

  • Singh,

Customer need PC to send some parameters or control signal to F28377S for application control, and they are using USB peripheral to do communication.

  • Hi,

It looks like you are using the device serial driver.

You pointed to the wrong folder for the driver. The driver resides here: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_00_00_02\utilities\windows_drivers

You should not have an issue installing the driver. They are functional.

If you have issues between different machines, please describe the issues specifically and debug for any differences which may cause the issue.

    sal

  • Hi Sal,

    Thanks for your support!

customer use the folder to install software, but still fail. if any reason for this that fail to install?

actually customer don't know the difference or they claim there is no difference, all their computer are win7 64bit, about 4pcs that can install successfully, but about 10 fail to install.

is there any requirement about the computer that can install the driver successfully? what information that do you need to help analysis this issue?

    C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_00_00_02\utilities\windows_drivers

  • There should be no problem with these drivers. They have been signed successully and they have been tested.

Your machines may be using an older version of the driver still. It may be grabbing an older version of the driver and not the latest although you have pointed to it.

Please uninstall and delete all other drivers except for the ones I pointed you too in C2000Ware. Depending on the number of drivers on your machine you tried to install for the device, you may need to delete a few.

Uninstall all drivers and delete them. Then try to point to the lasted working drivers in C2000Ware.

  • Hi Sal,

customer had uninstall and delete all other drivers and try to point to the lasted working drivers in C2000Ware, but still can not work.

    Strong

  • Strong,

Have you or Ricky been able to get the drivers installed on your machines? Have you been able to get the USB examples working on your machines?

    sal

  • Hi sal,

My computer has no this issue and can install.

    Strong

  • Hi Strong,

Please have Ricky try this on his machine and see if he can install the drivers.

Here are some suggestions and questions...

Has the customer been successful in running the C2000Ware USB examples using the drivers provided? For example, usb_dev_serial, usb_dev_bulk.

Is the customer using a custom board?

On the machines where the USB driver is not installing properly, can those machines connect via JTAG to the device? Are they able to use the CCS USB drivers and debugger drivers to connect to the boards?

Can you try using different USB cables when connecting? This shouldn't effect the driver installation but may affect successful connection.

Can the customer on their machines connect via JTAG to controlCARDs or Launchpads?

    sal

  • Strong,

We cannot predict exactly what you need, nor can we reproduce this issue on our end. If the Windows OS is not installing properly, then perhaps there is some information from that failure that the customer can use to diagnose the issue.

I suggest the customer consider investigating this themselves, or find an IT (information technology) engineer who is more familiar with this to ask for help. There may be some TI China help you can find, or the customer can query their IT department if they have one.

The customer will have to try to figure this out from the error messages and the failure to install messages.

    Thank you,

    sal
