I just got started with a LAUNCHXL-F28027F and a BOOSTXL-DRV8301 and was following the 5b project motor identification. One of the parameters was out of range after the test, the Full Scale Freq check . What consequence is that and how to fix if needed?

Hello,

Can you give me some more details? Are you checking the "user.h Params" box in the GUI? What are the values of the relevant parameters? Perhaps a screen shot of the GUI with the error condition will help.

Not using "user.h". Flux * Full Scale Freq =24.61 V, Full scale V=24 V

Is this running lab 5b? You should start with lab2b to identify the parameters - once those are set, you should be updating the flux value in the user.h and selecting "user.h Params" to load your own values that were identified.

Here, "Flux" refers to the gMotorVars.Flux_VpHz variable, and "Full Scale Freq" refers to gUserParams.iqFullScaleFreq_Hz variable. The gUserParams.iqFullScaleFreq_Hz variable is set by the USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_FREQ_Hz define statement in user.h; the Flux_VpHz is updated by FAST depending on the motor parameters.

Please check these values to see if they make sense. Revisit lab2b if you haven't already and update user.h with correct values

So I ran the identify motor with user.h not checked with appProgram=renamed proj_lab02b and I get nearly the same results:

What is the value of USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_FREQ_Hz in your user.h? Did you set it per your motor spec?

Not using "user.h". I thought I was following the methods in training videos for finding a particular motor's parameters. The motor is sold as a LVBLDCMTR.

The "user.h" parameters that are "ignored" during motor identification are the motor parameters Rs, Ls, Flux, Rr, and magnetizing current. This is because FAST makes an estimation of these using it's algorithm. The other parameters in "user.h" are still necessary, as they give important details about the board and max current/speed rating of the motor being used. Going through the lab guide for lab2a/2b, it does ask you to set some values in "user.h." Please don't confuse not selecting the "user.h Params" checkbox as not using this header at all. The controller and estimator both load values from this header during initialization. The error you are seeing is because of a value set in "user.h"

It doesn't look like you've modified USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_FREQ_Hz at all. Have you tried a slightly lower USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_FREQ_Hz?

I did modify from 800 to 750 and got good results. Now I'll try to understand how to set such a value in theory. I would have hoped to seen a value in the description at www.ti.com/.../LVBLDCMTR . I also don't get why such is not in the unique motor defines. It would seem everything about a unique motor should be done there.
