DRV8301-69M-KIT: Hardware Questions for kit

Part Number: DRV8301-69M-KIT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi everyone, I have a couple questions about the hardware of the DRV8301-69M-KIT and making modifications to it.

1. Is there a schematic detailing the power conversion from 60v bus down to the controller regulated input?

2. Is it possible to power the control card externally and isolate it from the bus's power? (Not isolate completely so it cant control obviously but just dont power it using the bus voltage)

Thanks! Any info is appreciated!

  • 1. You might refer to the schematic of DRV8301-69M-KIT that has a buck power supply to provide +5V to the controlCard, and there is also a jumper to disable it to controlCard.
    2. The current/voltage sampling must use the same ground for controller and bus power, but that' s ok if you need to use another power supply to the controlCard, and the ground of controlCard is connected together with bus power.
  • Thanks so much for the help! Could you directly link the document with the schematic? I have not been able to find a useful schematic of the chip/power system/anything in any of the PDFs I've seen.

  • DRV8301-HC-RevD1-RELEASE.PDFYou might download and install controlSUITE on your PC, and then find the document in the folder below, more documents in the s/w package also. Attached it for your reference also.
