Gio Interrupt not working

I'm using a TMS470M hercules board to sense a digital signal. When switching boards I noticed that the gio pin on my new board does not fire an interrupt when my signal goes high. Is this a hardware issue or can the board be debugged?

Hello:

Could you provide some additional details? Are the 2 boards the same? Are those custom boards or TI boards? I assume you are using the exact same SW on both, right?

Hi Enrique,

Yes the two boards are identical TMS470M 980 hercules HDK boards. We are loading the exact same software on both boards and noticing different behaviors. How can we debug this?

Just curious. What is the amplitude of the signal event causing the hardware interrupt on the GIO port pin? 5V or 3.3V?

Hello:

I don't know exactly where to start. Are you able to check continuity between your connection point and the actual microcontroller pin? Are you able to debug and check the value changing in the corresponding register? Can you configure that pin it as output and confirm you are able to drive it?

Hi Enrique,

Yes there is a continuous connection on the pin, we are able to probe right at the pin and see our signal. Furthermore, we cannot drive the pin as an output.

When we drive the gio pin as an output logical high, the pin's voltage stays at half the rails. So when we power the board at 5V using the usb supply, the pin outputs 2.5V. Does that provide any clues for the diagnosis?

Hi,

First, I scanned through the HDK user guide () and I do not see any mention of support for powering the HDK board from USB. Please only use the provided power supply or another 5v to 12v power supply connect to the barrel connector labelled P1.

What are the amplitude of the inputs you have connected to the GIO which is not working?
