TMDS570LS31HDK: Can I connect normal SPI device with HDK?

Part Number: TMDS570LS31HDK

MibSPI seems to be a Texas Instruments term. What is the difference between MibSPI vs SPI?

The physical layer is the same, right? Can I connect standard SPI devices to the MibSPI module?

  • Hello Manivannan,

Yes, MibSPI is a TI specific term and just indicates that it is a buffered SPI that allows for some autonomous handling of SPI communications and placing recieved data into buffer groups call transfer groups. The underlying mechanism is still standard SPI and the module may be used in a mode that we call compatibility mode that bypasses the buffering and allows the SPI to behave as a normal SPI. In either buffered or compatibility mode, external devices will interface as per any normal SPI communication scheme.
