Flexray to Optical fiber communication

Hello All,

Currently, We are developing a product based up on TMS570 Microcontroller for safety critical application.

We want to convert the Flexray communication to Optical Fiber single mode communication for longer distance

What are the necessary things to take care during my hardware design?

Kindly give your valuable feedback.

Thank you.

Regards,

S.Saravanakumar

  • Hello Saravanakumar,

I think the key care about would be that you don't introduce to much latency in the signals by extending the length and introduction of the opto couplers or what ever mechanism you are using to convert the digital signal to optical. Other than that, we really have no experience with such a conversion so we would have little advice to offer in this regard. From our device perspective, we just care that the signals from the transponder are compliant with the FlexRay standards.
  • hi,
Thank you for the important measure needs to take care while designing the hardware.
In case, if we get some more details about this flexray to optical conversion.

  • Hello user4769780,

Your question is already posted in it's own thread located at this link: e2e.ti.com/.../606256. The question has been assigned to one of our Flexray experts. They will come back to you for more information regarding the issue you describe so that a solution can hopefully be found.
