MSP-GANG v1.1.2.0 is available now

This is to inform you that the new software versions for our production programmers MSP-GANG and GANG430 are released.

These versions were driven by support for new devices.

MSP-GANG v1.1.2.0

This version has added support for new devices:

MSP430G2444, MSP430G2544, MSP430G2744
MSP430G2755, MSP430G2855, MSP430G2955

New features:

None

This version has additionally fixes for following bugs/issues:

MSP430F47126 and MSP430F47127 not recognized.
Open Notepad in Windows 64bit does not work.
The programming over the BSL without using the password file doesn't work if password from the file option is selected.
Writing the Serial Number to protected Info-A sector using function MSPGANG_Interactive_Copy_GANG_Buffer_to_FLASH(address, size) failed.
Erasing a lot of sectors of the flash - sector by sector can reset the MSP-GANG.

Known limitation: None.

GANG430 v1.59

MSP430ware 1.40 is now available. MSP430ware is an API library that makes it easy to develop MSP430 applications for 5xx, 6xx, and FRxx devices. Additionally, developing applications to the MSP430 API makes it easier to migrate between various MSP430 devices. This 1.40 release supports Grace 2.0 API, all existing 5xx/6xx , FR57xx, and FR5xx peripherals, plus numerous 5xx/6xx, FRxx device family enhancements/bug fixes, and an updated MSP430 Graphics Library. This release breaks out the device families for more logical by family organization. Release is available from:

New Features In MSP430ware 1.40

Support for for FR5xxx devices added (requires CCS 5.3.0+)
By-family separation of DriverLib for cleaner application development.
Driverlib is no longer distributed as a pre-built library instead the source files are distributed
Support for C99 types
IEC 60730 Library added. The IEC60730 library offers a complete set of API calls that allow users to perform self-test routines on MSP430 devices.

The tests meet the Class B requirements specified in the software section of Annex H of the IEC60730 standard.

GRLib has been updated to version 1_10_00_00.

MSP430 USB Developers Package 3.20.02 now available

The USB Developers Package for MSP430 is a software package that contains all necessary source code and sample applications that are required to start developing a USB-based MSP430 project. The package only supports MSP430 USB devices.

Features

USB Field Firmware Updater - Allows customers to easily customize and release an installer package for upgrading MSP430-based devices in the field, using the MSP430's on-chip USB bootstrap loader (BSL). The package contains all necessary source code to enable quick and easy custom modification.
Windows HID API (Human Interface Device class) - A Windows API that makes it easy for a USB host PC to communicate with an MSP430-based device running the MSP430 HID API stack, including an example application. It is designed to make HID easy for general-purpose USB communication.

New in 3.20.02:

This is a point release with bug fixes some minor enhancements.

BUG 2756 - USB stack for the MSP-FET / eZ-FET calls DINT/EINT in a high level function of the stack
BUG 3360 - USB_enable () starts with non-configurable oscillator drive strength settings for Xt2 - always XT2DRIVE_3

BUG 1811 - Change report_desc_size to WORD instead of BYTE
BUG 3286 - Remove references to UPCS0 ad this is no longer defined in UG and header files.
BUG 3287 - Data Residue is incorrect for Read Capacity and Mode Sense commands
BUG 3288 - Mode Sense commands need to STALL after short packet according to the 13 cases
BUG 3291 - Remove references to P7 port in stack.

MSP-GANG v1.0.9.0

New features:

Pressing F1 in GUI - opens the User Guide
Function MSPGANG_Set_IO_State(...) added that allows to modify the static levels on I/O pins.
Added support for *.d43 files.

This version has additionally fixes for following bugs/issues:

Programming of MSP430F5229 family doesn’t functional due to wrong memory map.

GANG430

No update for MSP-GANG430 was provided. The current version is v1.57 and can be downloaded on www.ti.com/gang430.

New MSC feature. The USB API now supports CDROM by supporting a subset of the MultiMedia Command Set. A new M5 example demonstrates the new CDROM feature.
The USB Stack now supports a Non-composite mode where we have multiple interfaces with a single active interface at any given time.
The MSC stack now supports double buffering. A new example M4 has been added that demonstrates this feature.
Added flow control to Usb to UART Bridge example.
CDC interface has new handler to support change to RTS (Set Control Line State command).

Fixes for following bugs/issues:

Known limitation: Firmware upgrade from v1.26 to v1.47 and higher doesn't work, the GANG430 stops communicating.

Workaround: disconnect and connect the power supply of the GANG430 and repeat the firmware upgrade manually.

MSP430ware 1.00.00 is now available

MSP430Ware is a collection of code examples, datasheets and other design resources for ALL MSP430 devices delivered in a convenient package - essentially everything developers need to become MSP430 experts! Much like Stellaris MCU's StellarisWare and C2000 MCU's ControlSUITE, MSP430Ware also includes high level peripheral driver libraries to make it easy to talk to MSP430 hardware. As of today, MSP430 Driver Library supports 5 and 6 series devices.
