    Dear Experts,

Recently we bought MSP430 USB Debug Interface MSP FET430 UIF with IAR software and FET Software, today we are facing issues that driver is not detecting  in my machine, its detected on other devices, and when i use FET pro 430, MSP430 is not detected and its saying driver is not installed and MSP430.dll file is missing, but i have installed FET pro 430 as per read me file in the software, and I have also installed latest version on MSP430.DLL file for that device, but its not taking that dll file, please help me any one out of this as soon as possible.

    Regards

today we are facing issues that driver is not detecting  in my machine

Are you able to see the FET debugger in the Device Manager?

Basically when the drivers are correctly installed then it should appear under Ports section either as CDC or VCP device.

      Can you check this?

      Periyasamy Iyyamperumal
      its detected on other devices

Do you mean that is works correctly on other PC's but not on the one you are using?

Which IAR version do you have?

      BR,

      Mo.

      Dear BR,

I think this will explain u more, let me put this way, we are using MSP430 USB Debug Interface MSP FET430 UIF device for FET Software, I have installed the software as per the guide given by read me file, but after the installation my device should be detected on PORTS tab but its detected in Other Ports, but if I used other MSP430 devices in my machine it was working(Other Devices) fine and those devices are detected in PORTS tab, only my device is not detected on PORT's tab, I have also installed latest version of MSP430.DLL file for my device one which am using, but its not taking that dll file, even this device is not detected when we use IAR tool, I think I am getting this issues only on my device(Which one am using for FET), My Machine is windows7 32bit.  so kindly help me on this as soon as possible.

I have installed the software as per the guide given by read me file

Which Software? Where did you get it? Basically all the required FET drivers will be installed automatically with the IAR installation.

      Periyasamy Iyyamperumal
but after the installation my device should be detected on PORTS tab but its detected in Other Ports

      1) Can you please provide a screen shot of your device manager when the not working FET is connected to the PC?

      2) In the device Manager, when you right click on properties --> Details of the not detected FET, what is the Device Instance Id?

      3) Which IAR version do you have?

      4) When you plug the FET tool to the USB port of your PC, do you see the Power LED or the Mode LED lighting or blinking?

      Periyasamy Iyyamperumal
I have also installed latest version of MSP430.DLL file

This is the High-Level Debugger Driver. What you need to install is the Low-Level Debugger driver which is included in IAR. Alternatively, the driver can be downloaded and installed from here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MSP430_JTAG_Interface_USB_Driver

When i plugged the MSP430 device into my system, Power LED is ON and RED LED was blinking for some times, after that  getting off.

This indicates that you have a V2 Firmware version on the FET.V2 Firmware uses the Virtual Com Port (VCP) protocol.

The Low-Level VCP drivers can be downloaded from here:

      VCP (for legacy DLLv2 support)

      Windows: XP32 \ XP64 \ Vista32 \ Vista64 \ Win7-32 \ Win7-64

      Hope this helps,

      Mo.
