Can anyone explain to me what is the function of LaunchPad emulator (MSP430F16x), and how it actually works? I'm curious how debug process on LaunchPad works. How breakpoints are sets and such stuff. What if uC in socket on LaunchPad will don't have JTAG interface?
Do not take is seriously. There is no emulator. There is no emulation. TI talks funny.
So what for is MSP430F1612 on LaunchPad?
Michal BienkowskiSo what for is MSP430F1612 on LaunchPad?
Chester GillonThe MSP430F1612 is part of the on-board flash emulation tool
Now it is just providing JTAG low-level acess to the attached MSP, allowing device programming as well as providing a debug interface. Direct programming of JTAG poins through USB or serial I/O would be slooo(add a few k of additional 'o's here)ooow.
