MSP430 Pulse Oximeter

The project being developed is a pulse oximeter using an MSP430 and the LabView GUI available on ti.com.

Software available on Web helps run Microcontroller while under conditions of a certain application in this case the pulse oximeter.

The LabView GUI available on the Web, is supposed to producs output in the form of a waveform, but the waveform is not being displayed as output when running the GUI on the MSP430. Any suggestions on trouble shooting this issue?

Also, the microcontroller used is the MSP430FG439 on a board put together by Olimex. The name of the board is MOD-PULSE. The LabView GUI is used on the MSP430FG437 mcu which I hope should not make a difference since both mcu's belong to thesame family. According to the user manual the LabView GUI is used on an MSP430FG437 mcu and I am using the MSP430FG439. The COM value is assigned to the correct USB port and is functioning properly. The board receives power and the program is running. For some reason the out waveform does not appear on the GUI.

In regards to the PC software, I found it. However, I do need help with the GUI appplication.

im gayathri...Mtech student....my project is to develop a pulse oximeter using MSP430FG439 microcontroller..i have some doubts..can u clarify..have u completed pulse oximeter project???

Hello,

I did finish my project. A pulse oximeter was a component of the project. What I did to obtain this component I purchased a board built for pulse oximetry using the MSP430FG439 from Olimex (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/Biofeedback/MOD-PULSE/). TI wrote an application note about the MSP430FG439 being used as a pulse oximeter. TI hired Olimex to build the board. I bought a board from Olimex. The finger probe was purchased separately from a medical supply company. Olimex provides software as well. Hope this helps.

Are you actually intending to develop anything yourself - or just copy what's already been done...?

Have you researched the theory & principles of pulse oximetry?

Have you studied the materials available on this very site, and the very many posts in the forums?

hello

I am also using pulse oximeter development board from olimex.

i want to see the waveform output. where would i get the scope.exe file.

Search for the slaa280a.zip file. I don't recall where I found it. Most likely, I found it on the Texas Instruments website for the pulse oximeter they hired Olimex to build. You might find it on the Olimex website. Also, use Google to find it. Google is probably your best bet.
