Hi,
my LaunchPad is no longer recognized by the PC. When i plug it in, it appears as an Unknown Device in the Device Manager with a hardware id "USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE". I have tried 3 different cables and 2 different machines and all the possible ports. Every single time the device was not recognized. I can also see some corrosion damage around the USB port, but only at the casing ground solder points. Is there anything i can do or i can throw it away?

This leaves two likely reasons: First, the UCB controller on the LaunchPad is broken. Repair is more expensive than a new LaunchPad.Or second, the contacts are damaged. You noticed some corrosion. Maybe there's more that you didn't recognize. Careful cleaning might help. Or adjusting the contacts. The corrosion might be a sign of a shortcut due to bend contacts.
