I like to check what is the impact of not connecting the two pins together VDsys and DVsys.
On page 25 of http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa517a/slaa517a.pdf, it shows that the pins(VDsys pin 20 and DVsys pin 74) are connected.
There are several mentions in the datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/msp430f6736.pdf)
(3) The pins VDSYS and DVSYS must be connected externally on board for proper device operation (page 14)
(5) The pins VDSYS and DVSYS must be connected externally on board for proper device operation. (page 17)
