How to detect link lost with the CC1101

Dear Forum,

I am using 2 MSP430F5438A and 2 CC1101 to make a connection.

This is working with the examples given by TI.

At the moment I found out that the receiver can shutdown due to powerloss but the sender unit is always on.

The sender is no longer seeing the receiver when it comes back on.

I have to reset the sender to make the system work again.

The problem is that I can not find the option to detect that the link is lost in the documentation.

Does any one know of a white paper how to solve this?

Perhaps TI examples does not support acknowledged mode of data transmission, you shall create your own.

[edit] To answer your 2nd post: your question is not that CC-series specific, so feel free to ask here, thou perhaps in radio forum you will find more communication experts than in msp430 forum.

There is no hardware ‘link’ feature like there is on network card connections.
The sender sends and the receiver receives. Or not.
The only way to detect loss of connection is to introduce a convention like sending an ACK packet (so sender knows the receiver is still there) or expecting a transmission in regular intervals (so the receiver knows the sender is still there).
And implementing a timeout for the expected transmission/acknowledgement.
