CCS error

When you say the code stops, do you mean that it breaks in the debugger, or just never makes it to the next line (so when you pause in the debugger it's always on that line)?

Also, do you have a suitable interrupt service routine defined for IO port 3?

Yes We have suitable ISR for PORT3.

Code stops and resume button is highlighted. We I again press resume button code execute from next line.

Strange... what does the disassembly window show for the area near where the debugger breaks in?

I will send disassembly  window shortly.

But I am also getting following error . pls let me know why I am getting this error.

In that case, it looks like the error message you posted above is worth investigating.

There's probably a software breakpoint (0x4343) set in the device memory where CCS is breaking in. That won't be visible in the disassembly or memory views, but when the 0x4343 value is fetched as an instruction it will cause the debugger to break. Try disabling software breakpoint support in the debugger and see if it still breaks.

But problem is still there.

Thinking about this further, if the CCS debugger can't communicate with the EEM reliably it may not be able to clear the trigger that causes software breakpoints to halt the CPU. I'd have thought that state would be lost on removal of power, but maybe not.

Just to be clear, does programming new firmware into the device appear to work (ie can you get the disassembly to change)? Also, what tool are you using to connect the MSP to your PC for programming and debug?
