Energy Library Reactive Power

Can any of you who have successfully integrated the Energy Library advise the resolution / accuracy you've been able to attain with respect to the reactive power measurements?   I've replaced the FIR lookup with a linear interpolation for the delay filter (as the FIR lookup table comments indicate it was built for 50Hz operation) but I'm seeing errors of roughly the same magnitude in either case.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Jesse,

I asked someone in our Smart Grid team about your question, and this is what they told me:

    "

In our implementation, the reactive energy fir filter is not so sensitive that we need to worry about the narrow frequency range over which a meter normally works. However, optimizing the LUT for 50Hz or 60Hz does improve accuracy, although it may not provide the jump in accuracy that the customer is expecting.  As a reference, customers can look at the app note corresponding to their EVM for reactive energy results.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have trouble finding the right app note for your EVM.

    Regards,

    Katie
